The MT-90 could be used though is substantially higher viscosity than called for so could be stiffer at lower temperatures. FYI - 'Thank you for contacting Red Line Oil, in your NV3550 transmission I would recommend the MTL. The valvoline product shifts awesome but the transmission is very noisey. So I emailed Redline about this and they recommend the MTL for the NV3550 tranny. My shifting got harder after a year though.
